MTA Gets It Right For This Summer

June 3rd, 2011 · No Comments

Not even Mayor Bloomberg can control the weather. But the MTA has heard our requests from last summer to keep beach goers safe. You may remember last summer on a very hot holiday weekend there was a mass exodus from the beach during a thunderstorm and few buses available. The MBCG was the only group to speak up for our fellow Brooklynites who visit the public beach in our community that this was unacceptable.

Congratulations and thank you to Andy Inglesby from the MTA who has informed us of the following changes for this summer:

1. A Dispatcher will be on duty summer Saturday and Sundays from noon to 8 PM at the bus turn around at Mackenzie Street. Any concerns or questions can be directed to him.

2. Bus Drivers will be available (on standby) at the depot if any sudden changes in weather occur or any other extraordinary event.

Thank you to Andy, the MTA and Teresa Scavo, Chairperson of CB 15 for all her help.
