Four years ago the MBCG proposed the idea of solar panels on the defunct dilapidated Bath House near Hastings Street. At the time experts estimated it could provide 10% of the energy needs of Manhattan Beach. Since then solar has become cheaper and more efficient. While your heating bills are going up. While your gasoline costs are going up. While all your petrol based products are going up, we are working towards solutions to save you money and decrease your dependence on foreign oil. Do you know what Albany has been doing the last few years? They have been doing a study on the Bath House. It’s a top secret study because no one knows anything about it. This is one more example of waste, waste and more waste. If they had followed our lead, we would be on the way to being energy self reliant in Manhattan Beach.
Below is another helpful tool for you. Google technology and this App will give you a fairly reliable idea how compatible your home is for solar panels. Please keep in mind that they can not tell the soundness of your roof.
The MBCG will keep presenting ideas to make your lives better. One day we hope Albany stops thinking only of themselves and listens to the people the are suppose to represent. Or do we all get gasoline/car per diems like they do?
