Happy Thanksgiving

Service Reminder: NO GARBAGE, ORGANICS, RECYCLING COLLECTION, OR STREET CLEANING ON THANKSGIVING DAY, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 26

The New York City Department of Sanitation announced that in observance of Thanksgiving Day, there would be no garbage, organics or recycling collection, or street cleaning, on Thursday, November 26, 2015.

· Residents who normally receive Thursday garbage and organics collection should place their materials out at curbside after 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 26 for pickup.

ZONING FORUM

Message from the Manhattan Beach Community Group President

In our continuing effort to keep everyone informed regarding the Mayor’s Ten Year Zoning Plan currently going through the process for passage, we agreed to sponsor the Public Forum (below) to make the objectives and possible effects of this legislation transparent to everyone.

The legislation proposed by the Mayor intends to create economic diversity in communities all over the City in order to create Affordable and Senior (called: Quality) Housing.  How this may or may not affect Manhattan Beach is unknown at this moment.  However, it is a ten year plan and unless legislation specifically excludes an area…..who knows what changes can be made in the future….

I urge you to attend this meeting.

Public Forum: Discussing the Zoning for Quality and Affordability Text Amendment

This event will provide the community an opportunity to discuss the proposed zoning text amendment and the possible effects in a public forum. A representative from the NYC Department of City Planning will be present and will give a presentation of their plan. Bring your friends and neighbors and learn how this will impact communities throughout New York City.
